From 31 March to 2 April 2025, Louis Starnowski (Regional General Manager), Jeremy Loch (Digital Services Manager) and Quentin Douzal (Digital EHS manager) had the honour of participating as a Partner in the Sustainable Performance Forum (SPF) hosted by our partner Wolters Kluwer in Chicago. This global event brought together experts, clients, and partners from across the Enablon ecosystem to address a central question: how can technology help organisations become more resilient, safer, and more sustainable?

An opening with Mentimeter

The event kicked off with interactive sessions via Mentimeter, where participants expressed strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI), even though adoption is still in its early stages. Nearly 50% of attendees indicated their intention to invest in AI in the near future, highlighting a forthcoming shift towards more advanced technological solutions in the EHS and ESG fields.

At VPWhite, we are convinced that this transition towards AI-augmented solutions will be a key pillar in supporting our clients over the coming years.

The vision from Wolters Kluwer

The keynote from Richard Pulliam, SVP and General Manager of Enablon, set the tone for the event, emphasising the importance of connecting data within a unified platform to build organisations that are more resilient, sustainable, and high-performing.

He also stressed the added value these technologies provide, far beyond simple compliance.

Key priorities for the future of the Enablon platform include:
  • Fewer safety incidents
  • Stronger corporate governance
  • Improved energy efficiency
  • More resilient supply chains
  • An API-first strategy for greater agility and connectivity
  • Continued investment in AI and expanded Customer Success teams with a dedicated CSM for each client
Among the concrete commitments announced:
  • An API-first approach for enhanced agility
  • Ongoing investment in AI and intelligent workflows
  • Doubling the Customer Success team, with a dedicated CSM for every client
  • New governance controls
  • Strengthened strategic partnerships
This positioning further reinforces our role as a committed and proactive integration partner.

More powerful, simpler, and more connected products

On the solutions side, Enablon presented major updates focused on empowerment, efficiency, and collaboration.

Three key areas were targeted

Process Safety Management
  • Centralisation of all PSM practices into a unified system
  • Automated, dynamic generation of “bow tie” diagrams, interconnected with PHA, audits, and inspections
  • A shift towards proactive risk management
ESG
  • Improved automated tracking of GHG emissions
  • New calculation logs for better data transparency
  • Launch of the Audit mobile app on 14 April (iOS, compatible with all Enablon versions)
Control of Work
  • Enhanced usability in real-world conditions
  • Improved offline functionality

Looking ahead:

  • Interoperability was a key focus, aiming to integrate systems for faster, more accurate, and more connected decision-making.
  • There was also a strong emphasis on agentic AI, guided by responsible, productive, and safe principles

AI driving sustainable performance

Artificial intelligence emerged as the central theme of this year’s edition. With concrete use cases showcased, a clear message was delivered: responsible AI is a powerful driver of sustainable transformation.

Highlighted use cases included:

  • AI Suggest: Natural language-driven auto-completion of incident forms
  • Sense: Computer vision to detect risky behaviours
  • Emissions forecasting based on fuel types (Scope 1)
  • Automated HAZOP for faster safety studies
  • Agentic AI enabling:
    • Air quality monitoring
    • Leak detection and spill response
    • Postural analysis and ergonomic recommendations

Additional information:

  • The AQS tool now enables emissions tracking at the asset level, a crucial feature for meeting regional and international compliance requirements.
  • In partnership with Microsoft, Enablon also highlighted an average ROI of $3.70 for every dollar invested in AI, underlining both the strategic relevance and economic viability of this transformation.

Key takeaways for VPWhite

Our attendance at SPF 2025 was an opportunity to strengthen our ties with the Enablon ecosystem, engage with other market players, and better anticipate tomorrow’s challenges.

We leave with:

  • A deep understanding of product evolutions
  • Real-world examples of AI integration
  • A shared vision for a safer, more agile, and more sustainable future
