The building sector currently accounts for around 40% of energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe.\n\n<br><br>\n\nUnder this framework:\n<ul>\n \t<li>The EPBD sets the long-term goal of decarbonised and smart buildings by 2050.<\/li>\n \t<li>The Tertiary Decree imposes a trajectory for reducing consumption (targets of -40% to -60% depending on the case).<\/li>\n \t<li>The BACS Decree describes the technical means (management and automation systems).<\/li>\n \t<li>The SRI measures the level of intelligence of buildings, an essential tool for staying on track with regulations and maximising benefits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n\n<b>Key dates <\/b>\n<ul>\n \t<li>2018: Introduction of the SRI in the revision of the EPBD on an optional basis.<\/li>\n \t<li>2020: Clarification of the SRI methodology and implementation procedures at European level.<\/li>\n \t<li>2022: Launch of SRI test phases in several countries, including France (Ministry of Housing and CEREMA).<\/li>\n \t<li>2024 : Nouvelle r\u00e9vision de l\u2019EPBD renfor\u00e7ant le r\u00f4le du SRI.2<\/li>\n \t<li>2026 : Rapport de la Commission europ\u00e9enne \u00e9valuant les r\u00e9sultats des phases d\u2019essai nationales du SRI.<\/li>\n \t<li>2027: (if the 2026 report is conclusive) implementation of the SRI in all Member States for large commercial or industrial buildings (&gt; 290 kW).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-092e75b elementor-widget__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"092e75b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"> The Smart Readiness Indicator: what is it? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ff75596 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ff75596\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe SRI assesses a building's capacity to integrate smart technologies in order to meet three impact pillars, broken down into seven criteria.
